Finally the day has arrived The Dream that was started by Martin Luther King in 1963 has now become a reality. As I compose this segment President-elect Barack Obama is making his way to Washington D.C. to take up residence in the White House as the 44th President of the United States.
The world is watching with bated breath to see if the promises made are going to be kept. One of my students remarked that she is waiting to see if he will be like all the rest. My first instinct was to was to ask her not to be so quick to judge; but I kept quiet because she was just voicing how people are feeling but are afraid to give those feelings and thoughts substance. Words have a way of becoming concrete and adults avoid giving negativity any kind of substance.
